Puppies are now three weeks old!  All are doing well and are well over 3 pounds!  They are getting out of the whelping box so I have set up the puppy pen!

Several new pictures as of 12/22/12

I will put more up when they open their eyes.  They are all doing well and gaining weight.  They are adorable!

Puppies are growing stronger every day.  They are all gaining weight and the boys are little chunks!  Lucy is a very protective mom but she lets me do what I want to with them, as long as she is in sight!

The puppies are now 8 months old, almost 9 and doing great!  I have had the luck to be able to spend some quality time with them and could not be more proud of this litter.  Lucy is still a great mom and she still loves to play with them.  Below is Lucy (in the middle) with Lily (yellow female) and Camo (formerly Samson).

I have been so lucky to place 9 out of 10 puppies before they were 9 weeks old!  I absolutely am thrilled with the puppy placements and I can not wait to hear from them to see how the little ones are doing!  Most are family pets but some will also be working boys and I am so happy to hear that.  Mom (Lucy) is finally 100 percent again and she is already back to work retrieving ducks!  I am very excited about the future of Coleman Labradors.  My two females are fabulous!  We will not have another litter until the spring of 2013.

Well, puppies are now 4 weeks old and so far so good.  They were wormed this week and that went smoothly.  Nails have been trimmed weekly, and the key is to catch them in mid-sleep so they don't get too fidgety.  They are all learning to run and jump and their teeth are now breaking through.  If you walk in the puppy pen with pants on, be prepared to be attacked!  :)  They are too cute right now, I find myself sitting here and just watching them when I should be doing much more...like grading papers or washing linens.

Lucy is also doing well, although poor girl is one of the moms that loses her coat and boy she has lost a bit of it...doesn't seem to phase her though.  She still nurses the puppies well but doesn't like to stay in too long anymore, I think the teeth are getting to her...can't say that I blame her!

I still have a few black males available.  These boys are looking strong and healthy and well put together.  Call if you are interested.  (434) 942-5206

Nov. 27th

Puppies are 3 weeks old today!  All of their eyes are open, they are able to hear now and are coming to me when I call them!  They are starting to play a little together and it is just too cute.  I will try to post new pictures and even a video later if I find time.

Nov. 19th -

Puppies are doing great!  They are growing like crazy and all are beginning to stand up and even walk a little instead of scooting.  Their eyes aren't open yet but I fully expect them to open at any time.  They are so cute and are starting to show a little bit of fiestiness and sweetness!

Day 7 - Nov. 12, 2011

Puppies are doing well today, they have almost doubled their body weight and are much more vocal!  Dewclaws were removed on the 8th and all have done great with that.  These puppies have a lot of potential to be show quality as well as hunting partners and all-around great pets.  I am very excited to see how they turn out.  Lucy is an exceptional mother, over the past 24 hours she has finally decided that she can leave them alone and take a good nap on the couch, though she is not far away.  I have been lucky to have a girl like her, and I know theses puppies will be amazing.

Puppies are here!  There are 10 total and so far they are all doing great, eating, sleeping and pooping!  Mom (Lucy) is very tired as she hard an extremely long labor, but she is a champ and a great mom.

10 puppies - 3 black females, 6 black males, one yellow female, one yellow male

Puppies will be available the week of Christmas!

Final preparations are being made for Lucy's delivery.  She has 6 to 8 days left and is so far feeling very good.  When she is resting you can see the puppies moving and it is really cool to watch.  We had an xray done the other day and found at least 10 puppies.  This is going to be a very large litter and we are hoping all goes well.  I will keep everyone updated once she starts labor!  Pictures will follow the day after or so!  Once the puppies are here I will start taking deposits for them.   Please email me or call (434) 942-5206 if you are interested in a puppy.  Calls should be made between 4 and 9 p.m.  Thanks!
